I am an ARC Postdoctoral Fellow (APD) and Research Fellow with ARC Special Research Centre for Ultra-Broadband Information Networks, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Melbourne, Australia. Before I joined University of Melbourne, I was a Research Scientist (NSERC Industrial R&D Fellow) with Optiwave Systems Inc. in Canada. I received my PhD from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada in Jan. 2006. During my PhD program, I was with Network Systems Group of TRLabs. I received my MSc from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 1999 and BEng from Zhejiang University in P. R. China in 1997. I was also a Research Associate with the laboratory of Network Technology Research Centre (NTRC) of Nanyang Technological University, and then a Senior Research Engineer with Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) of Singapore from 1999 to 2001. My research interest is in telecommunications networks, network survivability, and wireless mesh networks. I have authored and co-authored more than 30 technical papers and/or book chapters. I also hold two US patents and one Canadian patent.
